With 3670 produced through to the end of 1968, the 2-litre Coupé handsomely outsold the less costly Spider. It lived on in 2.4-litre form (with 130-type rear suspension and Lamborghini Espada -style dash) until '73, but purists tend to favour the earlier car.

The original sodium-filled exhaust valves on the 2400 are prone to damage, and the early electronic ignition system, known as Dinoplex, hasn't really stood the test of time.

The Cromodora alloys are 14 x 6, tiny by today's standards. Plenty of sidewall rubber showing, and to absorb the rough spots. And with the later 2.4 version's independent rear suspension borrowed from the big Fiat 130, the Dino Coupe supposedly rides quite nicely, and makes a pleasant Grand Tourer.

Fiat first introduced the Dino for the 1967 model year. A series of sports cars, the Dino cars were powered by a Ferrari Dino V6 engine in two displacements. the 2.0L V6 was used for the Fiat Dino 2.0L, and the later 2.4L V6 was fitted to the Fiat Dino 2.4.Two body styles were available for the Fiat Dino, a spider designed by Pininfarina, and a coupe designed by Bertone.
